Enabling Tele-ICU

Providing Specialist Intensive Care to the Rural and Remote India

Demo of the Tele-ICU Module within CARE

The Tele-ICU Module within CARE

The module is developed keeping in mind the dearth of specialists in Rural Area. Every citizen within the country, from urban and rural areas must have access to quality healthcare. However, today the rural India staggers way behind in accessibility to Specialist Care.

This problem can be solved by connecting the Doctors in urban region to the patients in rural and remote areas leveraging on technology.

The TeleICU Tooling is deployed through the 10BedICU Project across 7 states in India.

Data Capture

All Clinical Data of a patient admitted in an ICU is periodically charted by the nurses on the ICU sheet. The same information is not recorded digitally leveraging on the latest technology in Computor Vision and through integration of the software with the support equipments inside the ICU. This information may also be manually and periodically filled in by a nurse at the ICU.

Data Visualisation

The data that is captured at the hospital is then made visible through the CARE Portal to the specialist doctors supporting the patient care remotely. A lot of emphasis is placed on making this large amount of data available to the doctor, in a manner that is the most convinient for the doctor. Visual tools like graphes and diagrames are incorporated so that the doctor can gain the most insights in a short time.

Doctor Connect

The Doctor Connect module allows doctors from peripheral hospitals to reach specialists at the TeleICU Hubs. The communication module is built specifically keeping in mind the challenges of connectivity and internet speed in these peripheral areas.

Camera and device integration

The live camera feed integrated into CARE allows remote specialists to view the patients real-time. The 5-para monitor and ventilator integration also makes valuable clinica; data available to the remote specialists in real-time.
