A new questionnaire builder and simpler pharmacy billing in CARE

August 2026 launched version two of CARE's questionnaire builder and forms, streamlined pharmacy billing, made medication records safer to review, and simplified how encounters are managed.

August brought one of the bigger changes to CARE this year: a rebuilt questionnaire builder and forms system. Alongside it, pharmacy billing became faster to process, medication records became safer to review, and encounter management was simplified so staff see only the options that apply to them.

Questionnaire builder and forms, version two

Questionnaires sit at the centre of how CARE captures structured clinical data, from intake forms to assessments and follow up records. In August the questionnaire system was redesigned end to end. The new visual builder includes a live preview, so the person designing a form can see exactly what clinical staff will see as they build it, and drag and drop editing makes it quicker to arrange and restructure questions.

The form filling side was improved as well, giving clinical staff a cleaner experience when they complete questionnaires during care. Together, these changes make it easier for facilities to create and adapt their own forms without depending on developers for every adjustment.

Pharmacy and medications

Pharmacy billing now follows a streamlined workflow, making it faster for pharmacy staff to process medication charges for patients.

Medication records also became safer to work with. Dispense history now loads in pages, making long medication records easier to browse.

Encounters

Encounter management was simplified in a few places. The option to change an encounter's class has been removed, since it was causing confusion, and the discharge button now appears only for hospitalized encounters. The "completed" option was removed from the encounter status list to match current clinical workflows. The Create Encounter button now appears only for users who have permission to create encounters.

On smaller screens, action buttons on the encounter page no longer get cut off, and saving changes to a patient's registration details now takes the user back to the right page.

Reliability and usability

Tags can now be colour coded, making different categories easier to tell apart at a glance. Every organization selection dropdown now uses the same picker, giving a consistent experience across the application.

A number of fixes landed across the platform. Diagnostic reports now print correctly at the organization level, and a calendar caching issue that could show incorrect appointment availability was resolved. When several actions fail at once, users now see clearer error messages. Patient names display in full in avatars, and smaller corrections were made to text, labels, and link behaviour in various forms.
